Median Age by Country: Rankings from Youngest to Oldest
What is Median Age?
Median age is the age that divides a population into two equal halves: one half is younger and the other half is older. For example, if a country’s median age is 30, then half its citizens are younger than 30 and half are older.
A lower median age indicates a younger population, often associated with higher birth rates and future workforce growth. A higher median age indicates an older population, which may reflect lower birth rates, longer life expectancy, and potential challenges in healthcare and retirement support.
